BIRMINGHAM – The case of Kashmiri right to self-determination was highlighted at Amnesty UK’s event Sunday to mark international Human Rights Day in this British city.
Highlighting the human rights situation in different parts of the world particularly in Palestine and Indian-occupied Kashmir, participants visited the Kashmir stall at the conference venue.
The participants expressed shock on listening the situation in Kashmir.
The participants vehemently condemned human rights violations of Kashmiris at the hands of Indian occupying forces.
Fahim Kayani, president Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK, curated Kashmir stall, showing the visitors about photos and reports on the situation in Kashmir.
Reports on torture, arbitrary arrests, black laws and demography were presented to the visitors.
Kayani briefed the participants of the situation in Kashmir and called for consistent support to Kashmiri cause of right to self-determination.
“The activists of Palestinian Solidarity Campaign , Stop the War coalition and the Labour Party activists showed keen interest after listening to plight of Kashmiris,” Kayani said.
“The visitors were also surprised how India was given a free pass despite violating international law,” said Kayani.
