Birmingham: Box Fit Coaching hosted a special Awards Night at BFC on Rea Street, Birmingham, celebrating the dedication, achievements and community contributions of its boxers, coaches and supporters.
The event brought together members of the boxing community, civic representatives and guests to recognise sporting excellence and the positive impact of engaging young people in sport and constructive activities.
The guest of honour was Ms Carmen Watson, High Sheriff of the West Midlands, who joined the celebrations and presented awards to recognise outstanding achievements.
Among those honoured were Mohammed Zafran and Zahra Bibi, champions and competitors who have represented Box Fit Coaching at major competitions, including the Manchester BoxCup Champion 2026 and Winter Women’s BoxCup Champion 2025. Attention was also drawn to boxers preparing to compete at the National Championships 2026, as well as the achievements of other members of the club.
Speaking at the event, guests highlighted the important role that sport can play in supporting young people and strengthening communities. They emphasised that participation in boxing and other positive activities can help safeguard the younger generation from moral waywardness, drug abuse, knife crime and gang culture, while promoting physical fitness, mental wellbeing, discipline, confidence and a positive outlook for the future.
The event was also attended by Councillor Shehryar Kayani, Councillor Ali Qazi, Mohammed Ali, and other community representatives and supporters.
The Awards Night served as a celebration not only of sporting success, but also of the wider community mission of Box Fit Coaching: providing young people with opportunities to develop discipline, resilience and confidence while building a healthier and more positive future.
