Birmingham: The 18th Anniversary celebration of the Children of Pakistan Earthquake (COPE) Charity took place on Saturday, March 23, 2024. Held at Majestic Banqueting, the event hosted 550 guests and a dedicated team of volunteers, featuring a Grand Iftar.
The schedule was packed with engaging activities, including a mesmerising Quran recitation by Abdur Rahman Al-Khanati from Al Musafirun inshad group, soulful nasheeds, and an enlightening speech by Chairwoman Nasrat Rafiq. Fundraising efforts and an auction added excitement, with something enjoyable for everyone in attendance.
Notable highlights included a touching play performed by Cope juniors, conveying a poignant message about charity and the gift of sight, along with a spirited quiz to ignite the competitive spirit of the participants.
COPE achieved remarkable success in fundraising, garnering substantial funds earmarked for sending a team of medics and surgeons to Gaza to perform life-saving operations and respond to medical emergencies. Additionally, the funds will support COPE’s ongoing initiatives in Pakistan, including the construction of water sources, schools, houses, Masjids, and the provision of essential services such as cataract surgeries, wheelchairs, and support for orphan weddings.
The organisers expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the generous donors whose contributions will make a meaningful difference in the lives of the most vulnerable individuals in Pakistan.
