London: Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Haider Zaidi met his Qatari counterpart, Minister for Transport Jassim Saif Ahmed Al Sulaiti on the sidelines of the International Maritime Organization Assembly meeting in London today.
The two leaders discussed issues of mutual interest with special focus on cooperation in maritime affairs, capacity building and port infrastructure development.
Minister Zaidi apprised the Qatari Minister of the steps being taken by Pakistan to advance the maritime sector including promotion of green and clean shipping.
Earlier Minister Zaidi held a fruitful meeting with Aishath Nahula, Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation of the Maldives. Port management and development as well as training and capacity building in the maritime domain came under discussion.
The Minister for Maritime Affairs is leading the Pakistan delegation at the biennial IMO Assembly Session being held in London from 6 – 15 December 2021.
