Himaya Haven CIC annual general report launch of lottery funded award for all report

Birmingham: Himaya haven held their first annual general meeting and the launch of the lottery-funded awards for all report on the 6th November 2018. The AGM was hosted by Zobia Hadait Director of Himaya Haven Introduction was done by Razia Hadait Founder Director of Himaya Haven, of the journey so far. Guest of Honour was High Sheriff of the West Midlands Chris Loughlan. Guest speakers Dr Karamat Iqbal from Forward Partnership and the author of the report “Silent Victims on the Outside” Dr Anna Kotova from Birmingham University Department of Social Policy Sociology and Criminology talked about the secondary impact of imprisonment on families. Natalie Boothe Lecturer from the Montfort University Leicester, in Criminology Prisoners Families talked about The Forgotten Victims of our Criminal Justice System. A message from Inspector Imran Mirza was read out To round up the day an interactive quiz Kahoot was played and prizes were given. To end the programme A poem by Miriam Qadir written for Himaya Haven “One night in a cell” was read out.
