Solihull: Thyagaraja Festival 2020 and International Wome’s Day Celebration event was held at The Core theatre, Solihull. Organised by Shurthi UK and British Carnatic Choir Host by Dr Chithra Ramakrishnan Chief Guests were Metro Mayor of West Midlands Combined Authority Andy Street CBE. Dr Aman Puri IFS, Consul General of India in Birmingham, Cllr Stuart Davis and Mrs Sarah Johnson, Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Solihull, Robert Elliot President Solihull Chamber, Tony Elvin and several other esteemed dignitaries.The event featured Indian classical music and dance performances by young people who had gathered from all across the country to pay tribute to the great Singing Saint and Composer Thyagaraja. The festival also celebrated and honoured women achievers from various fields as inspiring role models and for their valuable contribution.
