London: Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Mr Tipu Usman, hosted a luncheon meeting at the Pakistan High Commission, London, in honour of the delegation of Jammu and Kashmir Self Determination Movement International (JKSDMI). The gathering was attended by JKSDMI Chairman Raja Najabat, senior members of the organisation, and prominent community leaders.
Addressing the gathering, the High Commissioner appreciated the contributions of JKSDMI and the Pakistani and Kashmiri communities in highlighting the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) dispute across various forums in the United Kingdom.
The High Commissioner reiterated that IIOJK is the core dispute between Pakistan and India and that its peaceful resolution is essential for lasting peace and stability in South Asia.
The High Commissioner assured the participants of the Government of Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the Kashmiri people and their legitimate struggle for the right to self-determination.
The High Commissioner concluded by calling upon the community leaders to continue promoting the values of hard work, honesty, harmony and mutual respect while remaining proud of their heritage.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Self Determination Movement International (JKSDMI), Raja Najabat Hussain, appreciated Pakistan’s continued support for the Kashmiri people and their right to self-determination. He emphasised the importance of sustained engagement with British parliamentarians, political leaders and international organisations to highlight the Kashmir dispute and the human rights situation in IIOJK. He reaffirmed JKSDMI’s commitment to peaceful diplomatic advocacy and called for greater unity among Pakistani and Kashmiri communities.
