London: Fahim Kayani, President, Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK, said in a press briefing that the debate on human rights violations in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir would be held in the House of Commons on September 23, 2021. This timely debate on Kashmir in the UK Parliament will pave the way at an international level for exposing brutal Indian’s actions “the forced burial of Shaheed Syed Ali Shah Geelani , custodial killing of Ashraf Sehrai , fake encounters of Kashmiri youth, brutal siege of Kashmir, mass graves, mass rape, media gag, communication blackout ,and illegal detention of thousands of Kashmiri youth especially political prisoners Musarrat Alam, Asiya Andrabi, Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Dr. Abdul Hameed Fayyaz, Zafar Akbar Bhatt, Naeem Khan and Peer Saifullah ”
President Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK , Fahim Kayani urged the British Pakistani Kashmiri community to ensure the participation of your MPs in the Kashmir debate in the House of Commons.
Kayani further said We demand an investigation into Indian actions pertaining to the burial of 92-year-old leader late Syed Ali Shah Geelani, whose body was kidnapped, desecrated and buried in the middle of the night against his own final wishes and the wishes of his family, who were attacked, including women, when his body was snatched by Indian forces. It’s important to note that Mr Geelani was under detention for 11 years. Furthermore, another prominent leader, late Ashraf Sehrai was detained under false pretences by Indian forces and denied medical treatment while in custody. Furthermore, his family were forced to bury him in the dead of night despite their wishes, and members were arrested afterwards. These actions are in contravention of the Geneva Conventions 1 of 1949: Article 17. Prescriptions regarding the dead. These actions constitute to war crimes.

The House of Commons have put together following list of highlights coming up on 23rd Sept 2013 “ The House will sit from 9.30am on Thursday. MPs will ask questions to the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster and Minister for the Cabinet Office, Steve Barclay .Business Questions to the Leader of the House will follow. Main business will start with a general debate on Baby Loss Awareness Week. There will also be a debate on a motion on Human rights in Kashmir. At the close of business on Thursday the House of Commons will rise for Conference recess and will next sit on Monday 18 October”
