Today, Dua for the martyrs of recent terrorist attack in New Zealand was offered and solidarity with the affected families was expressed at the Pakistan High Commission London.
A large number of British Pakistanis and members of the media gathered at the High Commission on the occasion.
In his remarks, High Commissioner Mohammad Nafees Zakaria condemned the terrorist attack in New Zealand which resulted in the loss of 50 innocent lives. The High Commissioner, quoting the Prime Minister of Pakistan, stated, terrorists have no religion and terrorism should be viewed from that perspective. He said that the leadership of Pakistan as well as people from every segment of society condemned the terrorist attack.
Mr Zakaria informed the audience about his visit to the New Zealand High Commission today where he signed the condolence book and laid wreath to honour the memory of the martyrs. He noted that people from various faiths were there to offer condolences and sympathise with the victims. He particularly appreciated the role of the Prime Minister of New Zealand, Jacinda Ardern in the aftermath of the tragedy in reaching out to the bereaved families. The High Commissioner, on behalf of the Government and people of Pakistan, expressed solidarity with the Government and people of New Zealand, as well.
