Islamabad: Reputed Think tank Institute of Peace and Development INSPAD Board of Directors unanimously decided to step down Chairman (IHC) International Harmony Council Mr Stuart W. Ross (Canada) his own request, because he is still under treatment and not able to move forward activities since one year. INSPAD Board of Directors has been nominated Int’l. humanitarian, peace and harmony leader,religious scholar and reputed global activist Hon. Amb. Dr. Khurshid Ahmed CBE UK As new Chairman IHC and Also Chairman Board of Governors INSPAD. Dr. Khurshid Ahmed CBE is a British Pakistani settled in the United Kingdom since 1964. He is a retired UK Public Servant having served in various local and national institutions over the last four decades. He served as an Assistant Chief Executive of Birmingham City Council in the eighties and nineties during which time he hosted Nelson Mandela in Birmingham and was seconded to the World Bank to work on the Sind Urban Development Project. He was appointed to the Commission for Racial Equality and served as Deputy Chairman. Dr Ahmed has also served in an advisory capacity with two former UK Prime Ministers in various advisory roles including the Prime Minister’s Task force on preventing extremism set up by Prime Minister Tony Blair and on the Attorney General’s Advisory Group as well as the Treasury’s Islamic Finance Experts Group. Dr. Ahmed is currently Chief Executive of a National Housing Association and C.E.O. of Faiths for Peace Initiative working with senior politicians including Gordon Brown through the UN to promote better interfaith dialogue to establish a standard of Global Civility in relations between individuals, nations, faiths and civilisations. For his services to the country, Dr. Ahmed was presented with an Honorary Doctorate by the University of Aston UK and made a Commander of British Empire (CBE) by Her Majesty, the Queen of Great Britain.
