PBBC delegation and Commonwealth Young Entrepreneurs call on the High Commissioner

A delegation of the Pakistan Britain Business Council (PBBC), led by its Chairman Mr. Julian Hamilton called on H.E. Syed Ibne Abbas, Pakistan High Commissioner to the UK, at his office on 09 December 2016.

The Chairman PBBC briefed the High Commissioner about two important trade events which PBBC is organizing in near future. One is “Doing Business in Pakistan” scheduled for 18 January 2017 in Glasgow with the support of Scottish Government and Pakistan High Commission London and the second event is about sending a high powered trade delegation, led by former British Foreign Secretary Mr. Jack Straw, to Pakistan in March 2017.

The PBBC delegation extended an invitation to the High Commissioner to speak at the “Doing Business in Pakistan” event at Glasgow. The High Commissioner expressed keen interest in the initiative taken by the PBBC and offered Government of Pakistan’s all possible support in making these initiatives successful.

Subsequently, a delegation of the Commonwealth Alliance of Young Entrepreneurs (CAYE) – Asia led by their president Mr. Shaban Khalid joined the meeting. CAYE delegation also expressed their support to the proposed trade delegation of PBBC.


The High Commissioner stated that Young Entrepreneurs have the potential to bring about a positive change in Pakistan’s economy.  He further highlighted the need to connect various business platforms to achieve the shared objective of enhanced commercial relations between Pakistan and the UK. Such interactions with the business community will go a long way in increasing the bilateral trade volumes between the two countries, added the High Commissioner.
