London: On the completion of the 76th year of brutal and oppressive occupation of the state of Jammu and Kashmir by India, an important conference was organized in the British House of Parliament under the administration of Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK about October 27 Black Day. Chaired by MP Jess Phillips, Shadow Minister. While the hosting duties were performed by the president of Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK, Raja Fahim Kayani.
On this occasion, members of the British Parliament, MP Debbie Abraham, Chairman of the All Parties Parliamentary Group on Kashmir, MP Andrew Gwynne, Chairman of Labor Friends of Kashmir, Kim Leadbeater, MP Yasmin Qureshi, MP Paul Blomfield, MP Muhammad Yasin, MP Rachel Hopkins, MP Simon Lightwood, and Member of the House of Lords, Wajid Khan, Muzzamil Ayyub Thakur, Shaista Safi, Mushtaq Lashari, Councillor Majid Hussain, Councillor Muhammad Nazir, and others were present.
They condemned the violation of human rights, killings, suppression of freedom of expression, desecration of Kashmiri women, and the conversion of the Muslim majority into a minority in Indian-occupied Kashmir, demanding the release of Kashmiri political prisoners as soon as possible.
The speakers emphasized the need for practical measures after 76 years, rather than just speeches, seminars, and programs on Kashmir. They drew parallels to the situation in Palestine and stressed the importance of resolving the Kashmir issue to prevent further conflicts in the region. They called on international nations and economic powers to bring the Kashmir issue to a logical conclusion for the establishment of peace in South Asia and the world.
The importance of upholding human rights worldwide was highlighted, and a resolution on the Kashmir issue was approved by a majority vote during the conference. Conference Chair Shadow Minister Jess Phillips announced that an international women’s conference on Kashmir will be held in the near future. Numerous individuals, including Naila Azmat, President of Tehreek Kashmir Birmingham, Chaudhry Ikram ul Haq, Councillor Iram Tahir, Haji Muhammad Saddique, Raja Nazir Johar, Tamakin Riaz, Inamul Haq Masoodi, Councillor Armaan Khan, Raja Abrar, Raja Abbas, Chaudhry Ayaz, Amjad Butt, Basharat Ali, Parveen Khan, Yasir Alam, Raja Abdul Qayyum, Chaudhry Qamar Afaqi, Chaudhry Riasat Khan, Dawood Shah, Shakeel Rehman, Sajid Butt, Chaudhry Muhammad Saleem, and Barrister Shazia Anjum and others were also present.
