British Community Leaders Congratulate Fahim Kayani on Civic Recognition Across the UK

Birmingham, UK – August 2025: Prominent figures from the British Pakistani community, along with leaders from wider society — including Qamar Abbas, Ch Ikram ul Haq, Muhammad Luqman, Ch Zahid Iqbal, Mrs Iram Tahir and many others — have extended heartfelt congratulations to Fahim Kayani, President of the All Parties Kashmir Alliance UK, on receiving a prestigious civic award from the Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Councillor Zafar Iqbal.

The award was presented in recognition of Mr Kayani’s outstanding contributions to community development, charitable coordination and social cohesion. The Lord Mayor commended his decades of service dedicated to strengthening grassroots networks and promoting unity across communities.

This latest honour adds to a growing list of recognitions Mr Kayani has received from civic leaders across the UK — including the late Ch Azeem (former Lord Mayor of Birmingham), Tafheem Sharif (Mayor of Tameside), Amjad Abbasi (Mayor of Slough), Hanif Raja ( Deputy Mayor of Glasgow) , Yasmine Dar (Lord Mayor of Manchester) and Mohammed Ayub (Mayor of Bolton) — for his tireless efforts in serving communities and advancing humanitarian causes.

Fahim Kayani is also co-founder of Aghosh UK, one of the country’s largest charitable networks. Under his leadership, the organisation has raised funds for multiple humanitarian crises, including over £1 million for the Pakistan floods in 2022, when one-third of the country was under water.

He has mobilised volunteers nationwide, built interfaith and intercultural partnerships, and championed inclusive events and relief campaigns.

Community leaders emphasised that this recognition is not just a personal milestone, but a source of pride for the wider community. Mr Kayani’s dedication reflects the values of service, unity and compassion, and continues to inspire others to contribute to the betterment of society.

With growing recognition across the country, Fahim Kayani remains a respected voice in British civic life — a steadfast advocate for public service, collaboration and the wellbeing of all communities.
