Kashmir Under Seige – World Must stop Being Silent Specator

London: Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK (TeK UK) held an online Kashmir Solidarity Conference during Kashmir Solidarity Week to take notice of Indian illegal occupation, and grave Human Rights Violations in IIOJ&K. The Conference was chaired by Raja Fahim Kayani President Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK and moderated by Khawaja Muhammad Suleiman.

Dr. Imtiaz Khan, Kashmiri Leader from USA, President of Tehreek-e-Kashmir Europe Muhammad Ghalib, Trade Union N. Scott, Central Leader of Stop the War John Rees, Chairman of Kashmir Information Center, Khawaja Suleiman, Leader of Socialist Worker Party Alastair Wingate, Leader Palestine Solidarity Campaign Kamal Hawash, Human Rights lawyer Muhammad Ali Asghar, leading political leaders Salma Yaqub, Stuart Richardson, Claire Bidwell of LKD, Naeem Malik, Saima, Suleiman, Ian Scott of Birmingham Trade Unions, Naila Iqbal while expressing their views said that the struggle of Kashmiris was based on Right & Justice, they are Struggling for the implementation of the United Nations Security Council Resolutions. For seventy years, India has usurped the human and democratic rights of Kashmiris and occupied Kashmir by force of arms.

Dr Imtiaz Khan said that India was conspiring to genocide Kashmiris as well as to resettle non-Kashmiri extremist Hindus to change the proportion of the population if the international community did not break the silence and stop India’s nefarious plans. Narendra Modi will destroy peace in South Asia.

President Tehreek e Kashmir Europe Muhammad Ghalib said that Kashmir issue is not a bilateral issue between India and Pakistan. The right of Kashmiris to self-determination has been recognized by the world. If not resolved peacefully, tensions in the region and two nuclear powers In the meantime, the military confrontation will bring nothing but destruction and ruin. Britain is a permanent member of the Security Council hence it must play its part.

John Rees central leader of the Stop the War Coalition, said UN resolutions give Kashmir the right to decide its own future on its own, Put pressure on the Indian government to resolve Kashmir dispute peacefully with dialogue. British MPs should urge the UK Government to use its relations with India to find a peaceful solution to the problem.

British Political Lead Salma Yaqoob drew attention to the fact that British and European democracy has been under assault from India due to sharing of false information as exposed by disinfo lab. She shared her concerns that current UK labour leader is supporting the matter as a bilateral.

Alistair Wingate of the Socialist Worker Party said that the current situation is horrific. That the miliatary tactics being used by India are a deliberate attempt to maim and destroy. Our duty, he said is to keep to pressure on our political representatives and working to stop the selling of arms.

Claire Bidwell Co-Founder of Let Kashmir Decide asserted that self determination is a basic human right as promised by the UN. She empahasised unity of all to solve the conflict and highlighted the attrocities being carried out by the Indian government.

Ian Scott the president of the of Birmingham Trades Union said that the Trade Unions have always supported Kashmiris rights for self determination. He said people are being killed and familes divided by LOC. We must work together to build up our demands for the resolutions to be implemented according to UNSC.

Palestinian leader Kamal Khawash said that the United Nations has a bad name in resolving the issue of Palestine and Kashmir. India and Israel are a serious threat to world peace. Both countries have heated up the market of oppression and barbarism and the world is a silent spectator.

Ali Asghar, Human Rights Lawyer, emphasised the importance of all community groups that had an interest in human rights working together. He expressed concern that the British media has overlooked the attrocities occurring in Kashmir and focused instead on India and its culture.
