Birmingham: An urgent press conference was convened by Tehreek e Kashmir UK. Fahim Kayani President Tehreek e Kashmir UK along with Mohammed Ghalib President Tehreek e Kashmir Europe, Azam Farooq Secretary General Tehreek e Kashmir UK Midlands Zone, Mufti Abdul Majid Nadeem and others. They shared their views with local electronic and print media representatives and announced the Kashmiri community should support those parliamentary candidates who would support the Kashmir’s right of self-determination in the forthcoming parliamentary elections in the UK and they would respect the wishes of Kashmiris by continuing to raise their voice in the British parliament and elsewhere.
They announced the declaration of the following seven points on behalf of the British Kashmiri community: 1. Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) is a disputed territory and the demand of the people of this area in form of a plebiscite ought to be fulfilled according to the United Nations (UN) Resolutions, 2. Jammu and Kashmir dispute must be resolved according to the aspirations and wishes of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, who are the main victims of the conflict for over seven decades, 3. I would, in my personal capacity as well as a parliamentary office bearer, help, support and co-operate with the people of Kashmir to raise their voice in the United Nations to remind the world of their role to settle the dispute of Jammu and Kashmir as per the wishes of its people, 4. The United Nations must play its role to implement the Universal Human Rights Charter in Jammu and Kashmir, 5. Human rights violations, atrocities and crimes against humanity in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir committed by the Indian armed forces, including but not limited to rape, enforced disappearances, mass graves, arbitrary arrest, the use of illegal/excessive force, draconian laws, etc., must be investigated by international and neutral institutions/organizations, 6. International media, International Human Rights Organizations and Global Relief Organizations must be allowed to have maximum access into Indian Occupied Jammu & Kashmir for fact finding, monitoring and relief work, 7.
