Birmingham: An important seminar on women empowerment was held at the Pakistani Embassy in Birmingham. It was hosted by Pakistan Consulate Birmingham, All Pakistan Women Association Birmingham and well-known social and welfare organization Roshni. While on this occasion, British Pakistani women belonging to different professions participated.
This important seminar was attended by First Citizen and Lord Mayor of Birmingham Councillor Maureen Cornish and representatives of West Midlands Police as special guests. Consul of Pakistan Birmingham Ms. Bakhtawar Mir, Chairperson All Pakistan Women Association Birmingham Riffat Mughal, Dr. Sarwat Sohail Chief Executive Roshni Birmingham, Jahan Ara Wattoo veteran politician and human rights advocate, Dr. Amara Sohail Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist , Shaila Pervez Training and Awareness worker Roshni Birmingham and others gave speeches on this occasion. Had a detailed discussion about the problems faced by women in this era۔
They said that a society can set the pattern of positive development without gender discrimination. In developed societies, equal rights are provided to men and women۔ The education of a man is the education of an individual while the education of a woman is equal to the education of the whole family.
They further said that educated and professional women can play an important and vital role not only for their family but also for the improvement of their country and nation and its economy. Wonderful arrangements were made for the entertainment and refreshment of women on this occasion.
