Lahore: Leaders of LeT convicted for terrorism financing by Anti-Terrorism Court Lahore. Zafar Iqbal & Yahya Aziz given imprisonment for five years each. Abdul Rehman Makki & Abdus Salam imprisoned for one year each. Assets made from terrorism financing also confiscated by court order.
Details: Today, 18 June 2020, ATC 3 Lahore finalised the trial of four Lashkar-e-Taiba leaders in a case lodged & investigated by the CTD Punjab. The court found them guilty of offence the of terrorism financing. They had been collecting funds & unlawfully financing prescribed Organisation LeT. The court has also ordered confiscation of assets made from funds collected through terrorism financing.
Five years each imprisonment has been awarded to Zafar Iqbal & Yahya Aziz with a fine. One year imprisonment each has been awarded to Abdul Rehman Makki & Abdus Salam with a fine.
Three convicts, namely Zafar Iqbal, Yahya Aziz & Abdus Salam are also UN Designated Persons involved in terrorism financing.
