Oldham: European Parliament of Human Rights Committee has officially announced the Hearing on Human Rights Violations in Jammu & Kashmir in September 2018, as well as scheduling the Kashmir Resolution to be discussed early next year. This historical decision for the Kashmir hearing was initiated by Wajid Khan MEP, also member of foreign affairs and Human Rights Committee alongside with the support of the Chairman of the Committee and also the Socialist & Democratic Group Coordinator.Wajid Khan Labour Member of the European Parliament from North West of England has been working very closely with The Jammu Kashmir Self Determination Movement International team led by Raja Najabat Hussain. He had addressed an audience of more than two hundred at the Chamber of Oldham Council on Friday 13th July on the special remembrance occasion of Kashmir Martyrs Day. He said since he has taken over the role of member of the European Parliament, he has been working tirelessly with Friends of Kashmir in the European Parliament and his colleagues in the Human Rights Committee to raise the voice of the suffering of the Kashmiri communities in Indian Occupied Jammu & Kashmir. It’s a big achievement of our efforts to invite those Kashmiris and Human Rights organisations to give evidence of violence and torture by the Indian Security Forces in the Kashmir Valley.Wajid Khan MEP assured the British Kashmiri Community that he will work hard to represent you but everyone in this area should be joining the Kashmir Campaign led by Raja Najabat Hussain Chairman JKSDMI and teams in British & European parliament. Shadow Immigration Minister Afzal Khan MP paid tribute to the Martyrs of 13th July 1931 who laid the foundation of the Kashmir struggle for Freedom & Self Determination and said he has represented Kashmiris in the European Parliament and now in the British houses of parliament. Shadow Community & Housing Minister Jim McMahon MP said he will raise the Human Rights Violations with the British Foreign Minister in parliament as well visit Kashmir soon to observe the situation on the ground. He assured the JKSDMI team for his continued support for the Kashmir cause.JKSDMI Chairman Raja Najabat Hussain, Secretary General Mohammad Azam, Patron Sardar Abdur Rahman Khan, Cllr Yasmine Dar Chairperson JKSDMI UK along with the Six Mayors of North West, Cllrs & Community Leaders welcomed the decision of the Human Rights Committee of the European Parliament and paid special thanks to Wajid Khan MEP and the Chair of his Committee. All the speakers showed uniformed Solidarity with the Suffering of Kashmiris in Indian Occupied Jammu & Kashmir as well as announced to continue the peaceful struggle for Freedom for Jammu & Kashmir State in the UK and Europe. Cllr Javed Iqbal Mayor of Oldham thanked all the participants and said as a Kashmiri origin he will play his positive role in whatever he can do. A special tribute was paid to all the Kashmiri Martyrs whose sacrifices will bring peace and prosperity in the State of Jammu & Kashmir.
