Suraya Foundation held a charity iftaar dinner in Birmingham
Birmingham: Suraya Foundation in coalition with Anzal Begum Foundation and Human Appeal held a charity iftaar dinner in Tipu Sultan. It was hosted by Najma Hafeez Founding Member and chairperson of Suraya Foundation. The aim of the event was to raise awareness of the great work done by Anzal Begum Foundation, Human Appeal and also introduce the new work they are initiating to support elderly and vulnerable people in the community. Chairperson of Suraya Foundation Najma Hafeez expressed the three main aims of the Suraya Foundation which are to provide a free helpline that elderly people can access for help and support, secondly to provide daycare facilities to encourage elderly people to get together with their peers and enjoy a social life. Finally to lobby national and local government and other stakeholders to invest in services and facilities for the elderly. The event was very successful with over 200 people who all appreciated the good work of Suraya foundation. The event also included an auction to raise money for water wells well for Human Appeal. The Lord Mayor of Birmingham Cllr Mohammed Azeem and Lady Mayoress Bushra Azeem, as well as many distinguished and eminent guests, were present at the event. Also present were Gazalah Ahmed, Habib u Rehman, Maqsood Hussain, Athar Siddiqui, Lubna Sarwar, Samina Rehman, Fareeda, Khajasta Khilji, Asia Hussain, Shrii Gautam, Raja Khalid Kiyani, Saraya, Muhammad Dilnawaz, Khadija Dilnawaz, Shahla Gull, Sumaira Farrukh, Firdous Osmany, Shagufta Hamid Khan, Davinder Prasad, Abid Khan, Laiba Khan and others.
