Birmingham: Cope held a magnificent Grand Iftar Charity Dinner at the Crystal Plaza on Saturday 1st April. The Sold Out event was attended by more than 450 guests who enjoyed a variety of performances and learnt about COPE’s valuable work to alleviate poverty across Pakistan.

Founder and Chairperson of COPE, Nasrat Rafiq was delighted by the success of the night and proud to see the charity grow and reach out to more and more people locally and internationally.

The line up included mesmerising Quran recitation, Nasheeds by S M Irfan Tahir, Bilal Iqbal and COPE Juniors who once again stole the show. The participation of young people at the forefront is a unique feature setting COPE apart from other charities.

The audience were captivated by an informative presentation that highlighted COPE’s work and impact on its beneficiaries was followed by a video called Follow the Pound which brought to life what happens to every pound donated through real life impact case studies.

COPE is a registered charity run by volunteers with a 100% donation policy. It’s focal aim is to help Break The Cycle Of Poverty by addressing every aspect of social welfare from education, housing, enterprise, health, vocational training and an Elderly programme.

The most recent project underway is COPE’s first Eye Hospital. The triumphant night ended with fundraising, auction and a delicious iftar meal.
