London: A memorable reception and dinner in honor of the Pakistan Men’s National Cricket Team was organised at Pakistan House in London.
The event was hosted by His Excellency Dr. Muhammad Faisal, the Pakistani High Commissioner to the UK, and his wife. The esteemed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board and Federal Interior Minister, along with his wife, attended as the chief guest.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi emphasized the need for national support for the cricket team, saying, “The national cricket team needs the nation’s support at this time. The players are confident and will definitely perform well and bring the World Cup home from America.”
In attendance were former Caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan Anwarul Haq Kakar, Chief Minister of Baluchistan Sarfraz Bhugti, Mayor of London Sadiq Khan, Jane Marriott CMG OBE, British High Commissioner to Pakistan, member of the House of Lords Zameer Choudrey, Member of the House of Commons Yasmin Qureshi, Mayor of Brent Cllr. Tariq Dar MBE, Councillors, and other influential political, social, business, and journalistic figures. The Pakistan men’s team is in the UK to participate in a three-match series against England.
The first match was played in Birmingham, the second was abandoned due to bad weather, and the third and final match of the series will be held at the Oval Stadium. Following this series, the Pakistan cricket team will travel to play matches in America, Australia, and South Africa.
The Pakistani High Commissioner to the UK organised this reception and dinner to encourage and honor the players. The special guests enjoyed a beautiful evening with their national heroes, creating lasting memories with them.
