High Commissioner visits Abubakr Mosque and its educational facilities in Southall
H.E. Syed Ibne Abbas, Pakistan High Commissioner to the UK visited Abubakr Mosque and its educational facilities on 30 September 2016. He offered Juma Prayer there and addressed a large number of Pakistani community at the Mosque.
The High Commissioner appreciated Pakistani community for their constructive role in the UK and their contribution in the progress and development of Pakistan. He also assured the community of the provision of better consular services at the High Commission and its Consulates.
On this occasion, the High Commissioner spoke about the volatile situation on the Line of Control (LOC), arising from recent violation of ceasefire by the Indian security forces. He expressed Pakistan’s desire for peaceful
neighborhood and resolving all issues with India through dialogue. However, the High Commissioner said that Pakistan’s desire for peace should not be taken as a sign of weakness. He reassured the community that Pakistan is in safe hands and is fully capable of facing all challenges. The High Commissioner reiterated Pakistan’s political, diplomatic and moral support to the Kashmiri people who are suffering from worst atrocities at the hands of the Indian security forces for the last two months. At the end, special prayers were offered for the martyrs and injured Kashmiri people.
Later, the High Commissioner visited the educational facilities at the Mosque and, on behalf of the High Commission, announced a donation of £1,500/- for purchase of computers for the Computer Lab.
