The Mayor and Faith conference held at University of Birmingham
Birmingham: The Mayor and Faith Conference was held at The Great Hall, University of Birmingham organized by “Faith in the West Midlands” & Hosted by The School of Philosophy, Theology, and Religion, University of Birmingham. Over 500 people attended this amazing and unique event including prominent Faith and Community Leaders from all around the West Midlands. Andy Street CBE Mayor of West Midlands chaired the conference. They discussed the issues of Homelessness, Leadership, Faith, the Economy and increasing Hate Crimes. He also discussed issued with mainstream and other BAME community organisations who can work with the west midlands combined authority, develop the region and achieve their main goals. Special attendance by Bishop of Birmingham David Urquhart, The Rev Canon Dr Mark Pryce Chaplain to HM The Queen, Paul Sabapathy Former Lord Lieutenant of West Midlands, Prof Michael Whitby, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Head of the College of Arts and Law at Birmingham University, Dr David Cheetham, Head of the School of Philosophy, Theology and Religion at Birmingham University, Prof Francis Davis, David Jamieson, Police and Crime Commissioner, Dr.Beverley Lindsay DL OD, Councillor Tristan Chatfield, Councillors Narinder Kaur Kooner , Amrick Singh Ubhi, Jean Templeton, Anita Bhalla OBE, Meera Sonecha Policy Adviser, Shenaz Sajjan, Arinder Jain, Sharda Lavingia, and many others.
