London Unites for Aghosh UK’s ‘Rebuild Gaza’ Campaign
London, UK – Aghosh UK brought together various community organizations and mosques under one roof for a Rebuild Gaza fundraising dinner, demonstrating a collective commitment to supporting Gaza’s recovery.
At the event, Aghosh UK showcased its key initiatives aimed at rebuilding Gaza’s healthcare system, including the Gaza Educate Medics (GEM) Programme and the Bander Clinic Rehabilitation Project in Khan Younis.
The evening was graced by Dr. Husam Zomlot, Palestine’s Ambassador to the UK, as the Chief Guest, alongside Afzal Khan CBE MP as the Guest of Honour.
Dr Husam Zomlot emphasized that justice for the Palestinian people is justice for all. He reiterated that the right to self-determination is fundamental right of Palestinian and praised Aghosh UK’s commitment to not only rebuilding hospitals but also strengthening human capacity through medical education initiatives like GEM.
Afzal Khan MP, the Guest of Honour, highlighted the importance of generosity beyond wealth, stating:
“Allah sees our intentions. The devastation in Gaza is immense, and we must prepare for a long-term commitment to rebuilding and the freedom of Palestinian people.”
He also urged mosques and community organizations to support trusted charities like Aghosh UK, which can deliver aid urgently and effectively
Other speakers included Dr. Adeel Riaz (Chairman, Aghosh UK), Shaykh Ghulam Rabani, Dr. Mohammad Hawari from PalMed academy , Mohammad Yusuf Bashforth, Junaid Rahim
, who all reinforced the urgency of supporting Gaza’s reconstruction.
The event witnessed an overwhelming display of generosity, with £235,000 raised to fund: the following projects Ramadan Iftar meals for families in Gaza and Scholarships for medical students through GEM
