London: An important meeting of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Kashmir was held at the British Parliament in London, chaired by Imran Hussain, Chairman of the APPG on Kashmir and Member of the British Parliament.
During the session, the President of the Azad Government of the State of Jammu and Kashmir, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, provided a comprehensive briefing to British Parliament members, media representatives, and selected Kashmiri leaders.
He addressed the latest developments in the Kashmir conflict, human rights violations in Occupied Kashmir, the enforcement of draconian laws, United Nations resolutions, and the role of the British and European Parliaments.
The event saw the participation of over 30 members of the House of Lords and British Parliament, including Baroness Shaista Gohir, Baroness Mobarik CBE, MPs Debbie Abrahams, Tahir Ali, Barrister Ayub Khan, Iqbal Muhammad, Matt Turmaine, Harpreet Uppal, Andrew Pakes, Gill Furniss, Kate Dearden, Anna Dixon and others. Since taking on the role of Chairman of the APPG on Kashmir, British Kashmiri MP Imran Hussain has emerged as one of the most influential advocates for Kashmiris in the British Parliament. Under his leadership, the group’s effectiveness has significantly improved, as demonstrated by the presence of over 30 cross-party members at this parliamentary gathering.
