Birmingham Says No to Knife Crime Awareness Day was held in Victoria Square outside the Birmingham City Council. It was organised by Zoe Pope and friends. The aims of the event was Birmingham Says No to; cuts to youth services, cuts to education, cuts to the Police and cuts to local services .The keynote speakers were Councillor John Cotton (Head of knife crime agenda), Councillor Waseem Zaffarcabinet member for transport and environment at the Birmingham City Council, Councillor Aikhlaq Ahmed, Zoe Pope Coordinator/ Bereaved Parent, Rachel Warren, Leo, Daryl Laycock Ex Gang Member / Youth Violence Specialist, Nathaniel King Leo James Youth Worker, Luke Video Productions, Rico Fogerty Voices Against Crime, Kingleo ft Manifesto Ying & Yang, Abid Khan Birmingham Youth Sports Association, Kash the Flash, Kingleo ft MDX Morning Sun, Mac Ferrari Ex Gang Member / Founder of Bike Stormz, Eaton Gordon Warwickshire Cricket and Chance to Shine, Farid Free Style Wrestler, Dale Sheridan Ex Knife Crime offender / Youth Mentor and others. They expressed their views and stated that we have a duty to protect and safeguard our children from evil and negative things in this critical situation. They said every person should raise their voice against knife crime and safeguard our children’s future.
