The Vyshyvanka Day celebration at Bosnia House was organised by the Bosnia UK Network

Birmingham: The Vyshyvanka Day celebration at Bosnia House was organised by the Bosnia UK Network. This event commemorates an international holiday dedicated to preserving Ukrainian folk traditions centered around the creation and wearing of ethnic embroidered garments known as Vyshyvankas.

Vyshyvankas hold great significance as iconic symbols of Ukrainian culture. Every third Thursday in May, Ukrainians and their friends worldwide come together to don these traditionally embroidered outfits and celebrate Vyshyvanka Day. Participants of all ages, including men, women, and children, took part in the festivities.

The event featured the serving of delicious Ukrainian traditional food, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all attendees. Alongside the specific clothing and style, a walk was organised to ignite enthusiasm among the participants. This occasion not only served as a celebration of the special day, but also provided valuable insights into the traditions, culture, and history for the younger generation. During the event, the organisers and participants engaged in a special conversation with WNTV UK.
