London: A Seminar on an independent secular Jammu Kashmir was held in the British House of Commons, London on 29th October 2024. It was Organised by the British Kashmiri Diaspora and chaired by Richard Bergen, Member of the British Parliament, Leeds East and Zia Ahmed and his team performed the hosting duties.

On this occasion, former leader of the Labour Party and independent member of the British Parliament Jeremy Carbone and members of the British Parliament Apsana Begum, Tahir Ali, Debbie Abrahams, the special representative of a member of the British Parliament and chair of the All Parties Parliamentary Group on Kashmir Imran Hussain, Community leaders, workers and representatives of various Kashmiri parties associated beside the idea of ​​independent Kashmir by participating fully.

The objective of the seminar was to seek the support of the British Parliament and the Government for the establishment of an independent and united state of Jammu and Kashmir, also on this occasion, representatives of the British Kashmiri diaspora, Sardar Mehtab Khan, Khwaja Nadeem Aslam, Azmat A. Khan, Hassan Khwaja, Tehseen Gilani, Kamran Baig, Muhammad Yasir, Dr Farooq Aziz, Asif Khan, Amjid Nawaz, Jameel Mir, Parveen BiBi, Zakir Hussain and others said that the state of Jammu and Kashmir before 1947 was a unified geographical state and was a political entity, which has been cruelly divided into five parts, they demanded the British government and members of Parliament to protect the fundamental rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and play an effective role in resolving the dispute towards full independence and autonomy of the occupied state according to the wishes and hopes of the people living there.

At the end of this important seminar, a joint resolution was also presented, which was approved by majority opinion and also demanded the restoration of fundamental rights of the people of the state of Jammu and Kashmir and the release of all political prisoners, including Yasin Malik.
