Rehana Ali’s clarification statement on a misunderstanding regarding the protest organised under the “British Kashmiris Diaspora”

London: Rehana Ali the Information Secretary of Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK & the founder of Voice4SouthAsia stated, “she would like to give clarification on a misunderstanding regarding the protest arranged under the banner of “British Kashmiri Diaspora” on Sunday 1-4pm on 11th February 2024, which she attended with few other Kashmiri organizations with similar & different ideologies.”

Rehana Ali stated, “she was invited by JKLF to join a protest which she accepted. She was told the protest will be organised by “British Kashmiri Diaspora” which welcomes & works to unite all Kashmiri organisations regardless of ideologies with a collective voice to free Kashmiri political prisoners, demand the remains of Maqbool Butt & Afzal Guru also free Kashmir so requested all attendees to only bring one flag, the Kashmiri flag which unites them,”

Rehana Ali stated, “she joined the protest to show solidarity as believes in the above demands too but confirm, She was misinformed & shocked, when she saw her pictures on social media with a banner which had a map of Jammu & Kashmir displaying Modi’s narrative on the side.”

Rehana Ali further stated, “she was requested to hold the banner in the front row like other community leaders & being one of the few females present but she didn’t get a chance to see it, when the march began from the Parliament Square Garden, passing outside 10 Downing Street & ending outside India House, Indian High Commission.”

She stated, “She was disappointed to read on social media, on the map on the right side of the banner “POK” which India refers to “Azad Jammu & Kashmir” & India written where it should say “Indian occupied Jammu & Kashmir” as India abolished the special status of Jammu & Kashmir on 5 August 2019 & reoccupied it, the reason why more atrocities are taking place to arrange more protests till present.”

Rehana Ali has a question, “how can we protest outside Indian High Commission with such a banner, it seems a contradiction as states Jammu & Kashmir is India & Azad Jammu & Kashmir is occupied by Pakistan although we had pictures of the Kashmiri leadership suffering in Tihar jail which is in India not Pakistan or Azad Jammu & Kashmir.”

Rehana Ali also stated, “her colleagues & Tehreek-e-Kashmir questioned her about this incident so a press release had to be issued to clarify the misunderstanding circulated.” she included that she likes to add, “she attends all events & protests on Kashmir as her commitment with Kashmir & stands with the voiceless Kashmiris also represents the Kashmiri females due to lack of representation but always stated she will not like to be part of any event, which is against a person, organisation or country which stands with Jammu & Kashmir.”

Rehana Ali likes to question the followers of Yasin Malik, the Chairman of JKLF & Maqbool Butt, do they have evidence these leaders ever used the word “POK” for Azad Kashmir & condemned Pakistan for occupation or any atrocities committed as India is condemned especially for not returning the remains of our leaders, giving life imprisonment to Kashmiri political leaders, human rights activists & youth also not allowing plebiscite by imposing similar Indian draconian laws such as TATA, POTA, PSA, NSA, UAPA, Domicile Act & especially AFSPA along with amended land laws which allow forced disappearance, torture, rape, murder, arson & settlements to creates half widows & half orphans a new term introduced to the world by the world’s largest known militarised zone on earth also she added there is a difference between an occupier & administrator so in her opinion till we don’t understand or learn the 18 passed UNSCR we can’t serve good to our Kashmir cause & establish the violations clearly across the UN monitored Ceasefire line.”

Rehana Ali further added that she witnessed news on social media that it was a protest organised by the nationalists but she was ensured “British Kashmiri Diaspora represents all the Kashmiris but no particular ideology or organisation”.

Rehana Ali had to give a video statement with the words, “all Kashmiri organisations joined today” adding, her organisation information because she heard, few leaders giving video statements it was a nationalist protest just before they ended it outside India House, Indian High Commission & she was also requested to give her statement to the media presented.”

Rehana Ali concluded her statement by adding, “she believes misinformation & condemning Pakistan being a protest to condemn India on Maqbool Butt Shaheed Day will not bring unity so must be investigated or may become an obstacle to create a collective voice in the form of joint protests & events for Kashmir as we know Kashmir cries for unity & peace the only way to reach plebiscite to free & rebuilt Kashmir again after about 77yrs of occupation.”
