Birmingham: Confirmation of arrangements for Birmingham City Council chief executive
Following the announcement that chief executive Dawn Baxendale will be taking up the post of chief executive of Christchurch City Council in New Zealand, arrangements have today been agreed for the period following her departure.
Chief finance officer Clive Heaphy will ‘act up’ as chief executive until a new permanent chief executive is appointed, subject to approval by full council on 10 September. The recruitment process for the new permanent chief executive will begin in September. A precise departure date will be agreed once Dawn’s arrangements for her move to New Zealand have been finalised.
