Dr Javid Iqbal remembered at Pembroke College, Cambridge
Dr Javid Iqbal, son of Allama Muhammad Iqbal, was remembered at Pembroke College, Cambridge on 9th November 2016. The event, that coincided with the birth anniversary of the Poet of the East, Allama Iqbal, included an official book launch ‘Life after Iqbal’ written by Sabeena Khan. The book is an insight into what happened to Sir Muhammad Iqbal’s vision after his death in 1938, up to today, through the eyes of his children, Dr Javid Iqbal and Muneera Iqbal.
Dr. Javid Iqbal came to Pembroke College for a PhD in Islamic Philosophy in 1949 and later on served as a senior Justice of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.Speaking on the occasion, the grandson of Allama Iqbal, Mr Waleed Iqbal shed light on Allama Iqbal’s philosophy and achievements. The event was also attended by a representative from the Pakistan High Commission in London.
