Birmingham: On Saturday 12th March, The Nazir Awan Foundation held their inaugural charity dinner at Edgbaston Cricket Stadium. The Nazir Awan Foundation celebrated their collaboration with the Shahid Afridi Foundation who have been working hand in hand for over a year.

Nazir Awan Foundation was launched in 2021 by founder Amer Awan, son of late Haji Nazir Awan, a prominent businessman, a philanthropist, an upstanding member of the community who sadly lost his life to Covid in April 2020.

The evening was hosted by founder and trustee Amer Awan and wife, Nadia Awan (trustee) with special guests, Pakistan cricket legend Shahid Afridi and superstar actor Adnan Siddiquie.

The money raised was for healthcare and food rations.

Both Amer Awan and Nadia Awan paid tribute to their father Nazir Awan….

Amer Awan said….

“My father was a man who was larger than life, a man who gave so much to his community. A man that cared and served humanity, he was a very successful man but he was the most humble person. He is dearly missed everyday and the very reason we started a foundation under his name was so that we could keep his amazing legacy alive and continue his greatest legacy… to give back to those in need!”

Nadia Awan said….

“We are so proud to have collaborated with Shahid Afridi, he works so hard alongside his team doing amazing work in Pakistan, then mother land of my father in law, a country that he loved so much…. we are very proud of our supporters that have come tonight and have done Birmingham proud. We would like to thank both Shahid Afridi and Adnan Siddiquie for their presence and making our dinner so successful.!’

The dinner was attend by over 200 people with some very distinguished guests including Wasim Khan, Mushtaq Mohammed, Saima Khan amongst many others. It was a night of total blessings and success.
