Being a role model for many Britons, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh (1921 – 2021) was a perfect fit for being a royal who has left so many sweet memories behind after his death, not only for the British people, but for the rest of the world as well. He has done a lot for the British royal family, the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth countries and many people across the world during his lifetime, which can never be ignored, and he will be remembered for his achievements in human history, accordingly.
His constant and steadfast dedication to the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth will not be forgotten by the world, as this has inspired so many people for being willing to sacrifice for the betterment and well-being of others around the globe.
The Duke of Edinburgh was unique in whatever he used to do throughout his life, whether this would be his generous and free support to Her Majesty The Queen from the beginning to the end, his impassioned commitment to the environment, his devotion to young people by establishing The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, his prominent and distinguished service in the Royal Navy during the Second World War, his role in the World of Sports or his other dealings or relations with and behaviour towards the rest of the people.
Having attained the honour of being the longest-lived male member of the British royal family and the longest-serving consort of a reigning British monarch, Prince Philip had made 5,493 speeches, accomplished some 22,219 solo engagements since 1952 and authored several books until his retirement from his royal duties on 2 August, 2017.
Thus, he has set an extraordinary example of how to live as a royal, how to stay active while performing one’s daily activities, how to protect wildlife and care for the environment and how to help others. That is why April 9, 2021 marked as a Dark Day in the history of the British royal family, the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth countries and the rest of the world when His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh died and left Windsor Castle in mourning.
