A historic hearing on the Human Rights Violations in Kashmir
Brussels: A historic hearing on the Human Rights Violations in Kashmir was held by the sub-committee on Human Rights of the European Parliament at the headquarters of the European Commission in Brussels. The hearing was attended by, approximately, 500 people, including human rights activists, the Kashmir diaspora, Members of the European Parliament (MEPs), Members of British Parliament, several officials of the UN & the European Union. They emphasized the need for implementing and acting upon the recommendations, suggested for resolving the Kashmir Issue presented in the Human Rights Commission’s Report on the State of Jammu & Kashmir. They also called on India to, immediately, stop the atrocities and human rights violations, perpetrated by India in Kashmir. In attendance were Richard Corbett MEP who chaired the Friends of Kashmir in European Parliament, Anthea McIntyre MEP Chairperson Friends of Kashmir in European Parliament, Wajid Khan MEP.
