Urges Kashmiri masses to stay vigilant to thwart India’s wicked designs

Banning political forums won’t change the reality of Kashmir dispute

Srinagar: Taking strong exception to India’s plan of banning Hurriyat under draconian UAPA, the Jammu and Kashmir National Front has warned the Indian government that any such move would be thwarted at all costs.

In a statement issued here on Sunday the JKNF spokesman Shafiq ur Rehman while reacting to a media report regarding the India’s purported plan to ban segregated factions of All Party Hurriyat Conference under the UAPA said, that the move was bound to push the region into a quagmire of uncertainty.

Referring to the BJP government’s dangerous plan and its far-reaching consequences over the region, the spokesman threatened to mobilize Kashmiri masses across the state in case the Indian government went ahead with its wicked plan. He warned India not to take Kashmiris for granted. “We are a resilient nation and for us resistance has become a way of life”, the spokesman said. Terming the Hurriyat Conference as the sole representative of Kashmiris’ political aspirations Rehman said that the people who have rendered matchless sacrifices for the noble cause would go to any extent to counter Indian imperialistic designs. Indian rulers, he said, must bear in mind the fact that such anti-Kashmir tactics won’t change the reality of the Kashmir dispute. He said imposing a ban on political parties and political activities would serve none but only deepen the crisis in the disputed region.

“What has New Delhi achieved out of banning JKLF and Jamaat-e-Islami ”, the spokesman asked. “Despite these colonial tactics the Azadi sentiment in Kashmir is kicking and alive, India can not suppress it by resorting to such mean tactics”, he added.  Terming these age-old tactics as remnants of colonial era he said, “Banning of political activities in Kashmir under one pretext or the other and imposing sanctions on political parties/forums is a part of India’s sinister design to crush the Kashmiris’ ongoing freedom struggle”.

Any such vicious attempt, he said, would be foiled by the Kashmiri people who have sacrificed hundreds and thousands of precious lives for the noble cause of freedom from the Indian occupation. And history is witness that occupied has to end its occupation sooner or later. 

Meanwhile, the spokesman urged the Kashmiri masses to stay vigilant against the Indian conspiracies and maintain complete unity and concurrence at all levels to thwart Indian designs.
