Indian Governments media policy in IOJK, supports attacks on journalism and freedom of press
Srinagar; Prof Abdul Ganie BHAT Former APHC Chairman and President of Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference in a meeting with a team of Journalists said we are in complete solidarity with journalists and the recent announcement of Indian media policy is clear attack on journalism and freedom of press. The freedom of expression and freedom of press is basic right and without these it is suffocation. under the new policy, the Government would monitor the published and broadcast material.
While denouncing house arrest of Chairman APHC Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, demands his other political and innocent Kashmiris who are in different Indian Jails. Mirwaiz Umar is under continuous house arrest since 5th August 2019.
He said Kashmir is a dispute internationally recognised needs to be resolved according to the wishes and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Peace in South Asia is linked with resolution of this longstanding dispute.
