Kashmir, Palestine March in Spain to mark Solidarity Day

BARCELONA – In full solidarity and support to people of Kashmir and Palestine, Kashmiri diaspora leadership held March in Barcelona, Spain. Barcelona streets were reverberated with Free Kashmir and Free Palestine slogans.

Kashmiris from the liberated part of J&K( AJK), people of Pakistan and their allies across the world observe Feb. 05 as Kashmir Solidarity Day to reiterate and renew support to popular struggle for right to self-determination of Kashmiris.

Held annually since early 1990s, it was initiated by renowned Pakistani leader Qazi Hussain Ahmad.

Fahim Kayani, leader of Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK, said the hearts of Kashmiris beat with those in Gaza.

“Our struggles are not separated. We may be two people but our goals is same: freedom from illegal occupations,” Kayani said, addressing the March  in Barcelona

Recalling how Indian Illegally occupied Kashmir witnessed massive pro-Palestine demonstrations in past, Kayani said: “it is fact like day light that we have never seen Kashmiris and Palestinians separate. Our geographies may be far from each other but the occupiers and colonizers, India and Israel, are friends and allies of each other.”

“It demands we close our ranks and  bring down apartheid in Palestine and end illegal occupation of Kashmir,” said Kayani, a prominent Kashmiri diaspora leader.

Whilst speaking at the rally British MP Yasmin Qureshi said that Kashmiri had right to self determination under international law. That it was their basic fundamental right. She will continue push for it in British Parliament and get her British govt to bring all parties together. She further said she supported ceasefire in British Parliament ,to allow humanitarian aid for people facing intolerable suffering. The siege of Gaza must be stopped, and water, food and fuel allowed in.

Safa Chaudary , Spanish human rights activist said The struggle of the Kashmiri people is similar to the struggle of the Palestinian people. Both are testimonies of resistance against occupation forces, who only know how to impose their violence, demonstrating how weak, how desperate and how inhuman they are. Your oppression is destined to fail because the world is with Kashmir and it is with Palestine today and always.
