Birmingham: Kashmir Solidarity Day was observed at the Pakistan Consulate Birmingham to express solidarity with the people of Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir who are facing Indian repression with unshakeable resolve and exemplary fortitude.
Representing the Pakistan Consulate Birmingham, the Consul General Sardar Adnan Rasheed, Consul Sadia Malik and the Vice Consul Bukhtawar Mir, attended the event along with Pakistani and Kashmiri community members from the West Midlands.
During the event, messages from the President, the Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister of Pakistan, on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day were read out. The event paid tribute to the resilience of Kashmiris facing Indian oppression for the past 75 years through documentaries and songs. While addressing the event, the Consul General of Pakistan in Birmingham reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering moral, political and diplomatic support with the Kashmiri people till the realisation of their right to self-determination.
The entire Pakistani nation stands with Kashmiris in this valiant struggle to secure their inalienable right, he added. On the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day, we seek international community’s attention towards India’s gross and widespread human rights violations in Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir, reversal of its unilateral and illegal actions of 05 August 2019, repeal of draconian laws and implementation of relevant UNSC resolutions in accordance with the wishes of the Kashmiris.
