Kashmir Solidarity Day is being observed in Pakistan Consulate Birmingham
Pakistan Consulate Birmingham organized an event on 05 February 2023 to express solidarity with the people of IOJ&K who are facing Indian repression with unshakeable resolve and exemplary fortitude.
It was attended by a large number of British Parliamentarians, local councillors, eminent scholars, academics, human rights activists, members of the civil society & the media.
The aim of the event was to reaffirm Pakistan’s unwavering moral, political and diplomatic support to mark their solidarity with the Kashmiri people. Message from the Honourable President of Pakistan, Honourable Prime Minister of Pakistan on the occasion were read out followed by the video message from the Honourable Foreign Minister of Pakistan.
The Consul General of Pakistan in his keynote address sought international community’s attention towards India’s gross and widespread Human Rights violations in IOK, reversal of its unilateral and illegal actions of 05 August 2019, repeal of draconian laws and implementation of relevant UNSC Rs in accordance with the wishes of the Kashmiris. At the end, participants made dua for their Kashmiri brethren to be free from illegal occupation. Traditional Kashmiri Chai was served along with some other savouries.
