Birmingham: A special gathering was held at the Pakistan Consulate in Birmingham including an Interfaith Iftar Dinner. Which was hosted by Consul General of Pakistan Birmingham Sardar Adnan Rashid and Vice Consul Ms Bakhtawar Mir.

On this occasion important personalities from different walks of life including leaders of different religions from the West Midlands specially participated. Imam Asad MBE officially started the ceremony with the recitation of the Holy Quran. While on this occasion Lord Mayor of Birmingham Councillor Chaman Lal, Mayor of Walsall Councilor Chris Towe, Deputy Lord Lieutenant Sir Davis Thompson, Leader of Birmingham City Council Councilor John Cotton, Police and Crime Commissioner West Midlands Simon Foster, Archbishop of Birmingham Reverend Bernard Longley, Chief Constable West Midlands Police Craig Guilford, Assistant Chief of Ambulance Service West Midlands Craig Cook and others gave speeches.

They gave an international message of inter-faith harmony, tolerance, unity and love. The speakers said that Birmingham is a multi-cultural and multi-religious city in which different nationalities and religions can cooperate with each other to make it more beautiful and peaceful.

On this occasion, the Pakistan Consulate Birmingham entertained the distinguished guests with cold traditional drinks and delicious food. The distinguished guests from near and far appreciated this good initiative of the Pakistan Consulate Birmingham and assured of cooperation in the near future.
