TeK UK acclaims Hyndburn councillors for demanding urgent action from British Government on IIOJ&K
London: President Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK Fahim Kayani commended the leadership shown by Hyndburn Borough Council Labour Councillors who had expressed solidarity with the people of Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir . A joint letter by Cllr Abdul Khan ( Central Ward Accrington ),Cllr M Ayub ( Central Ward Accrington ) , County Cllr Munsif Dad BEM JP (West Accrington & Oswaldtwistle Central) to the Foreign Secretary asked the government to step in and insist India stops human rights violation in Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir and implement the UN resolution on Kashmir.
The following letter was written by Hyndburn Borough Council Labour Councillors to Hon. Dominic Raab, Secretary of State for Foreign
“I hope my email finds you in the best of health.
I have seen and heard credible reports of Human Rights violations against the Kashmiri people by the Indian Army, these reports have been broadcast on worldwide television and radio on a regular basis.
I have also read the reports by the United Nations,
Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch that thousands of Kashmiri people in the State of Jammu and Kashmir have been indiscriminately targeted via torture, rape and murder these are blatant human rights violations and abuses under the International Law. In your role you will be aware of what’s happening in that part of the world.
Not doing anything is not an option, I feel as a responsible Nation who is seen as Global leader, it is our moral responsibility to try to mediate to resolve issues such as Kashmir.
Whilst The United Nations, the European Union and the Human rights groups acknowledge that there is a problem needing to be addressed in Kashmir.
The tortures, the orchestrated rapes and the killings of innocent people which include women and children and the destruction of mosques and homes must be forced to stop.
I am gravely concerned that our inaction is leading to the persecution of the Kashmiri people an immediate intervention of International Community is Essential to prevent further loss of life.I am confident that you will act in the best interest of humanity with sympathy, courage and dignity.
