UAJK to celebrate foundation day of AJK govt on Oct 24
Muzaffarabad: While keeping the tradition of the past alive, the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (UAJK) has decided to celebrate the foundation day of the AJK government on October 24 with national zeal and zest.
According to a press release issued by the Public Relations Department of the university, the UAJK has been consistently celebrating the national day since 2016 to keep the young generation connected with the freedom movement and its history.
A seminar will be organized this year jointly by UAJK and Kashmir Liberation Cell on the theme of “Kashmir: A Continues Struggle”.
The first session of the seminar will be chaired by honorable Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry, the President of Azad Kashmir and in his absence, Chairman Parliamentary Kashmir Committee Shehryar Khan Afridi will preside over it.
The inaugural session will be addressed by Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed, former Foreign Secretary and Director General Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad, Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry, former Ambassador Arif Kamal, Director General Iqbal International Studies and Dialogue, Islamic University Islamabad and other speakers.
The second session of the seminar will be chaired by AJK Prime Minister Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi, former AJK President Sardar Masood Khan and heads of different political parties. According to the office of the Vice Chancellor, Dr Muhammad Kaleem Abbasi, full preparations are underway to pay tributes to those who had rendered tremendous sacrifices for liberation of Kashmir. In this regard, members of the cabinet of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, members of the Legislative Assembly, senior military and civil officials, media and civil society representatives to celebrate the day with national spirit.
