Birmingham: An evening dedicated to celebrating the legendary Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and the highly anticipated release of his “Lost Album,” Chain of Light took place at the Midlands Arts Centre in Birmingham

“Chain of Light” features previously unheard recordings of Nusrat and his Qawwal party, produced at Real World Studios in 1990, during the height of his local success. British musician Peter Gabriel, who introduced Nusrat to the global stage, created collaborations with him that are widely regarded as masterpieces of world music.

The event also showcased a documentary in development about Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, presented by Saiyan Bashir Studios. Special attendees included Ustad Nusrat’s prompter, Mohammad Ayub MBE, Acting Consul General of Pakistan in Birmingham Kamran Ahmed Malik along with Qawwali enthusiasts and devoted fans. Though legends pass, their voices and legacies continue to live on in the hearts of their admirers.
