DFP remembers Shaheed-e-Azeemat Sheikh Abdul Aziz
Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party has paid glowing tributes to renowned Kashmiri leader Shaheed-e-Azeemat Sheikh Abdul Aziz on his 12th martyrdom anniversary.
In a statement issued here on Monday the DFP spokesman while highlighting the supreme sacrifices rendered by the martyred leader said that Shaheed Sheikh Abdul Aziz was a man of honesty and integrity who devoted his entire life for the Kashmir cause. Referring to the martyred leader’s role in the ongoing liberation struggle the spokesman said that he was one of the pioneers of the freedom movement who went through trials and tribulations during his years’ long struggle for right to self-determination. Remembering the incarcerated party chairman Shabir Ahmed Shah’s years’ long association with Shaheed-e-Azmat the spokesman said that the duo had spent years together and worked selflessly for the collective cause. He said that both the leaders were leading a massive public rally on 11th August 2008 when Indian troops opened fire on the rally that resulted in the martyrdom of Sheikh Sahib.
The spokesman said that Sheikh Abdul Aziz Shaheed would be remembered for a long time in the annals of Kashmir history for his indomitable role in the freedom struggle.
