High Commissioner holds a virtual interactive meeting with community members

London: High Commissioner Moazzam Ahmad Khan held a virtual meeting with community members representing various segments of society, and discussed a number of issues related to consular services and general welfare of the Pakistani diaspora in the UK.

In his remarks, the High Commissioner commended the role being played by British Pakistanis in the progress and development of the UK as well as Pakistan. He apprised the participants that the economy of Pakistan was back on track, exports were growing, the current account was running in surplus, and reserves had improved.

Appreciating the overseas community for sending record remittances to Pakistan, he urged them to benefit from the Roshan Digital Account facility to transfer their funds to Pakistan.

With regard to the smooth provision of consular services, the High Commissioner assured that once the COVID-19 situation improves, the High Commission and Consulates would start extending attestation services during NADRA and MRP surgeries in various areas of the UK.

The High Commissioner said that the Mission was working on bringing students and young professionals on one platform, so that they can integrate better with the wider society, and play an active role in community building. Similarly, he offered all possible help in teaching Urdu language to the children of the Pakistani community.

The participants appreciated the High Commissioner for reaching out to the community through virtual meetings as well as video messages on important issues such as getting COVID-19 vaccination.
