Preston, Bradford, Wolverhampton and Liverpool: Aghosh UK launches a charitable campaign in Preston, Bradford, Wolverhampton and Liverpool, UK, supporting Ghaza, Palestine.
Aghosh UK, a renowned charity organisation, collaborated with Al-Khidmat Foundation Pakistan and Palestine International Medical Aid to organise impactful charity dinners in UK cities such as Preston, Bradford, Wolverhampton, and Liverpool, aimed at assisting the oppressed people of Gaza.
Participants from various departments, including notable figures like Mayor Yakub Patel, Dr Nabeel, Dr. Sameer and Dr Mansoor Baig in Preston, Dr. Shahnaz Al-Stal and Chairman Council of Mosques Wolverhampton Abdul Aziz in Wolverhampton, and legal expert Amir Anwar, Dr. Altaf Khattak, leader of Friends of Palestine Ann San and Miss Kathryn Turner, Semi finalist for miss England in Liverpool actively engaged in these events. Dr. Adeel Riaz, Chairman of Aghosh UK, along with Abid Hussain, Chief Executive, Dr. Hytham Hamdan, Director of Palestine Medical Aid, and Dr Ahmed Sabra provided comprehensive briefings on the current situation in Palestine, highlighting the challenges and needs of its people.
The gatherings witnessed generous donations, and fundraiser Habib Malik moderated the proceedings. Speakers emphasised that the extent of destruction in Gaza surpasses biased media reports and necessitates years of sustained efforts for resettlement, rehabilitation, and development. They condemned the severe loss of human lives, labeling it one of the worst atrocities in history with unspeakable human rights violations. Encouraging financial, moral, political, and diplomatic support from British citizens and the diaspora community, they asserted that even a single pound can make a significant difference in saving lives in Gaza.
The speakers highlighted the gravity of the situation, citing Gaza’s Ministry of Health reporting over 21,000 casualties, mostly children and women, during the 11-week conflict. In a notable gesture of support, members of Ayesha Masjid Reading, including Shakeel Khan and Faisal Khan, presented a £40,000 check for ICU ambulances to Abid Hussain, CEO of Aghosh UK, and co-founders Raja Fahim Kayani and Mohammad Ghalib at Royal Shalimar Birmingham. The collective aim is to generously contribute to the timely provision of emergency medical care for the thousands of wounded individuals in Gaza.
