#BrumBudget20: have your say at Birmingham City Council’s public budget consultation event

Residents, businesses, community groups and voluntary organisations are being invited to have their say on Birmingham City Council’s budget proposals for 2020+ at a drop-in event.

The event takes place on Wednesday, 18 December, between 3 pm and 7 pm, at the Council House, Victoria Square, B1 1BB.

Attendees will be able to find out more about the proposals and a range of services and initiatives, including the forthcoming Clean Air Zone, adult social care and health, Cleaner Streets, library services, citizen involvement, Birmingham Children’s Trust and the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

They will also be able to meet members of the council’s Cabinet as well as representatives from the authority’s senior leadership team.

Councillor Ian Ward, Leader of Birmingham City Council, said: “This continues to be the most challenging period in Birmingham City Council’s history with the unprecedented reduction in funding from central government due to last for at least another four years.

“In this budget we are seeking to protect services to those that need them most, whilst at the same time ensuring that the city is ready to meet the challenges and grasp the opportunities of the future.

“We really want to hear your views on our proposals so this drop-in event is an excellent opportunity to come and speak to us face-to-face and tell us what you think, so that together we can help shape the future of the city.”

There is no need to book – people can drop in at any time between 3pm and 7pm. However, for those who have special access requirements, please email budget_views@birmingham.gov.uk
