DFP thanks PM Imran for raising Kashmir issue

Srinagar:  Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party has expressed its gratitude to Prime Minister Imran Khan for raising the issue of Kashmir during his speech to the UN General Assembly.

Lauding the Prime Minister Khan’s speech, the DFP spokesman in a statement issued from Srinagar termed it as a true reflection of Kashmiris’ sentiments. He said that Kashmiris were thankful to the Pakistani nation and government for lending their all-out support to the ongoing liberation struggle.

Pakistan, he said, has consistently raised the issue of Kashmir at the world forum and used its political and diplomatic clout to raise global awareness about early resolution of the Kashmir dispute that has been the main cause and consequence of the unrest and human rights violations in the region. The spokesman expressed the hope that the world would take notice of the Indian high-handed hegemony and the neo-colonial tactics it has been unabashedly using to suppress the voices of dissent in Kashmir.

“It is time that the world community must play its due role in holding India accountable for its crimes committed by its troops in the IoK”, he said adding that the policy of indifference on the part of global community would only embolden the oppressor to perpetuate violence and inflict miseries upon the oppressed.
