Special tribute to Madam Asma Jahangir in Geneva
Geneva: Seminar on Human Rights in South Asia and a special tribute paid to the Late Madam Asma Jahangir during the 37th Human Rights session of UNHRC at Room No 22 Palais Des Nations UNHRC Head Office. Organized by Coup de Pousse Chaine de I Espoir Nord-Sud (ECOSOC). Moderator was Maurice Katala General Coordinator Coup de Pousse Chaine de I Espoir Nord-Sud (ECOSOC), Hosted by Nasir Aziz Khan Consultant & Human Rights Activist. Keynote speakers were Sardar Shaukat Ali Kashmiri Exiled Chairman UKPNP & General Secretary Jammu Kashmir International People’s Alliance (JKIPA), Baseer Naveed International Human Rights Council Hong Kong, Dr Shabir Ch Director Institute of Kashmir Affairs London, Gulam Hussain Labour Councillor United Kingdom, Ali Daalat Labor Councillor United Kingdom and Ms Isabela Favero Research Analyst European Foundation for South Asian Studies (EFSAS).They said Asma Jahangir was the voice of voiceless peoples. She was a brave lady who always stood for the rights of all faiths non-faith and minorities in Pakistan. The real way to pay tribute to her is to continue her legacy and raise our voices to protect Human Rights. Asma Jahangir wanted to see a peaceful and democratic country of Pakistan so she always spoke against the military dictation and involvement in civil matters. We should follow her footsteps in our practical life.
