Altaf Ahmed Bhat lauded UN High Commissioner’s statement regarding ongoing Human Rights violations in IIOJ&K

Islamabad, Sept 2020: Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement (J&KSM) Altaf Ahmed Bhat lauded UN High Commissioner’s statement regarding ongoing Human Rights violations in IIOJ&K.

During her oral updates, UN High Commissioner mentioned that In Indian Administered Kashmir incidence of military and police violence against civilians continue including use of pellet guns, many legal changes including new domicile rules are generating deep anxiety, while space for political debate and public participation continue to be severed and restricted particularly since new media rules. Hundreds of people are still under arbitrary detention while internet connectivity is not fully restored in the whole region.

Chairman J&KSM Bhat added that Indian propaganda, lies and fake news regarding normalcy of situations in IIOJ&K is exposed before the world now. IIOJ&K is under twin lockdown and Modi led government in India has paralyzed Kashmir for 408 days. The world is now aware of the fact that Kashmir is burning and Modi has become a threat to the peace of South Asia.

Bhat further said that Modi, Amit Shah, and Ajit Doval introduced illegal Domicile law during COVID-19 outbreak to change the demography of the region and within 3 months more than 1.5 million domiciles have been issued to outsiders. If this illegal domicile law which is defying International Law and UN Resolutions not stopped then demography of IIOJ&K will be totally changed within a few years.

Chairman J&KSM Altaf Ahmad Bhat while quoting statistics said that, in past 408 days Indian brutal forces target killed 237 Kashmiris, critically injured 1400 people, 14000 civilians arrested, 946 houses around, hundreds of women molested.

Kashmir is and must remain on the agenda of the UN Security Council, it is an international dispute which must be resolved as per the resolutions of the United Nations. Peace and stability of South Asia require peace in Kashmir, which is a nuclear flashpoint. World powers and international organizations must-see reality and stop Modi from starting a nuclear war and jeopardizing the peace and stability of the whole of South Asia.

Chairman J&KSM condoled the death of the wife of Ameer Hamza, General Secretary of Tehreek e Hurriyat and also prayed for the departed soul.
